Friends, family hold vigil for Lincoln woman

On Thursday, hundreds of people turned out to a vigil for Jessica Brandon, who was murdered in her Lincoln home Tuesday morning..

Some of the folks there said that shows just how much she was loved.

"It’s hard that she’s not here," Robert Turvey said.  "I don’t know…there’s not words to describe the pain and the hurt."

The vigil was held at Havelock Park.  Participants said prayers and shared memories of her.

The 36–year–old died after at least 2 intruders forced their way into her home and shot her.

It was Tuesday morning near 20th and Fairfield streets.  So far there are no arrests in the case.

Friends have set up a GoFundMe page for her family to help them out in this time of tragedy.

"It’s all that we can do to help, really," Turvey said.  "I mean, we can’t bring her back.  No amount of money’s going to do that but it’s a start to help get past it."

Meanwhile, police told us Thursday they have several persons of interest in the case..

They have finished searching the home and are now waiting for autopsy results.
