Friends remember Crete woman killed on I-80 east of Lincoln Airport

Friends of 22–year–old Lourdes Bautista are in shock after learning of her death.
The Crete woman was traveling on I-80 near the I–180 interchange just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning when she hit the concrete median causing her to lose control of her car, go down the embankment and collided with a concrete drain cover.
Bautista died at the scene.
Fire crews had to extract her 19–year–old passenger, she was then transported to the hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Josefina Ortiz was close with Bautista and says she can’t believe she’s gone, “She was my best friend, she was the sister i never had, i could do anything with her.”
Ortiz described Bautista as spontaneous, said she was always up for an adventure, and had a huge heart.
While everyone is grieving the loss Ortiz wants everyone to remember the young woman for her energy and positivity.
“With that big smile she used to have. The way she talked, the way she laughed, I’m pretty sure everyone is going to remember her laugh.”
