UPDATE: The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says Steven H.  Cordis, of Ohiowa, was arrested for Misdemeanor Motor Vehicle Homicide, Driving During Suspension and Violate stop sign.  Cordis posted 10% of $10,000.00 and was released from custody.  He is scheduled for a first appearance in Jefferson County Court on March 26th 2014 at 0930.

Dozens gathered at a local church Sunday morning to honor and remember a friend.

Francisca Campbell, 39, died from her injuries following a car crash near Plymouth on Wednesday. The Lincoln woman was life-flown to the hospital where she died later that night.

“By the time I got up there it was 10:30 and she'd died at 7:40 so I didn't even get to see her again,” friend Sheri Campbell said.

People who were close to Campbell say she was well loved. Friends met at Northern Lighthouse Church to share memories and mourn their loss.

“It really didn't hit me until I heard my friends up front talking about her,” friend Brandy Blair said.

“I think that was the best part of Frannie, that she loved so much and she cared,” Sheri said.

But Francisca has some skeletons in her closet; she served 12 years in prison for her role in the death of her two–year–old son back in 1998.

“I avoided Frannie for a long time because I was judgmental of her and had I kept that attitude I would've missed out on knowing a really good person,” friend Kristie Justus said.

Many of Francisca's friends spent several years in prison with her. They say they witnessed a troubled woman transforming herself for the better.

“The Frannie I knew the last couple years was not the same Frannie I met nine years ago,” Blair said. “She asked for forgiveness and learned to forgive herself for the mistakes she made.”

“I just wish that she was still here,” Campbell added.

Francisca leaves behind a sister and an aunt. Funeral services will be held on Thursday.
