Frigid today and breezy 2/2/2022

Sorry snow lovers…no snow for us in Nebraska this morning, but we are getting the frigid temperatures and breezy conditions! Wind chill values are subzero for most of southeast NE this morning and wind gusts are around 25 to 30 mph. These bitter cold conditions will unfortunately linger into the second half of the day and highs will only warm into the upper teens. Wind chill values by the afternoon will just barely be above zero, so make sure to wear your heavy layers all day today. Wind gusts will remain strong all day and into overnight tonight which will result in cold wind chill values. A Wind Chill Advisory will go into effect as a result and will be in effect from 12AM to 11AM Thursday. It could feel as cold as -20 early tomorrow morning. Temperatures struggle to warm tomorrow and highs will only reach the upper teens and low 20s again. We won’t warm back above freezing until Friday and beyond with temperature eventually warming into the 50s.
