FULL INTERVIEW: Teresa Ewins approved by Lincoln City Council
Police Chief candidate from San Francisco was approved on 7-0 vote by City Council

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Teresa Ewins was approved by Lincoln City Council on Monday, July 19, to become the next Police Chief.
Ewins was approved on a 7-0 vote and will become the first-ever female police chief in Lincoln. She was nominated by Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird in late June.

Ewins was born and raised in California. She said she grew up with a learning disability and has always had a passion for soccer.
Ewins joined the police force when she was 30-years-old and is a 26-year veteran.
Prior to becoming our Chief of Police, Ewins was the highest-ranking LGBT officer with the San Francisco police.
