Further dialing back the summer heat, humidity for a while
A significant, long-lived storm was responsible for most storm reports, including report of a tornado near Merna (around Broken Bow) Tuesday evening.
Personally, I don’t think we could dish up better summer days than what’s in the forecast through the end of the week up until the weekend. If you’re missing the rain, storm chances will return by the weekend.
But here in the near future, many will get to enjoy less humidity and summer heat this Wednesday.
Most of us will be dry and quiet for a few days, too. High pressure building will keep sunny conditions around in eastern Nebraska especially over the next couple of days. A storm or two could be strong out on the fringes of the Panhandle this evening.
There’s a Marginal to Slight (Level 2 of 5) risk out that way for the small chance to see a borderline severe storm pulse up. The Slight risk mainly in Colorado is from an update by the Storm Prediction Center at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Average temperatures at this time of the year are at about 90° and we won’t see 90s for a while.
Temperatures trend cooler than average including 70s over the weekend!
