It was an emotional win for the Huskers, as long-time Nebraska broadcaster Greg Sharpe had died after a battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday.
In a post-game interview, Swansen said the team was playing “for something a little extra special.”
“Over my four years, I got to know Greg,” Swansen said. “Kinda was able to build that connection and see how loved and important he was to the Nebraska community, so I think that gave us a little extra chip on our shoulder today.”
Playing for a bigger purpose.
