Gage County couple arrested on multiple charges after Wymore meth bust
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A southeast Nebraska couple were arrested Thursday after authorities say they were caught red-handed with methamphetamine.
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office said deputies went to a home in Wymore to arrest 33-year-old Sayge Peters, who was wanted in Jefferson County.
Court documents say he failed to show up in court on five drug charges.
Deputies found Peters and his wife, Tara Peters, in their bedroom and took them into custody.
The sheriff’s office said meth-related items were in plain view throughout the bedroom.
Deputies said they seized 11 baggies of meth weighing a total of 16 grams, plus numerous syringes and meth pipes.
The search also yielded alprazolam and buprenorphine hydrochloride pills, which are controlled substances, according to a press release.
The sheriff’s office said Sayge Peters also had a knife with a 6¼-inch blade.
He and Tara Peters were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Sayge Peters, who is a convicted felon, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
