Garbage truck partially falls into sinkhole in downtown Omaha
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A garbage truck was pulled out of a sinkhole in downtown Omaha on Thursday.
At around 11 a.m., the Omaha Fire Department reported an “incident” involving a sinkhole near 16th and Harney streets.
City officials shut off gas and power to a “large portion” of the downtown area, according to the fire department.
The agency later shared photos of the incident, which showed a garbage truck that had partially fallen into the sinkhole.
The truck has since been removed from the sinkhole, and the Omaha Public Power District restored power to the area.
