Getting warmer on Monday, a trend that will continue
Depending on where you live, you either saw precipitation/cooler weather or warmth/sunshine on Easter.
The warmer air and sunshine were found to the west. The Tri-Cities reached the 60s! That was not the case closer to Lincoln, where spotty rain/snow showers occurred for the first part of the day. It did dry out for the second half, however, but morning clouds/precipitation kept highs in the 40s.
We are watching a boundary off to the west where northwesterly winds are clashing with southeasterly winds. This boundary is near the Tri-Cities as of Sunday evening. I cannot rule out a few showers firing along this boundary, meaning that those near the Tri-Cities have the chance to see these. I believe the showers will remain west of Lincoln on Sunday evening.
Although Lincoln remains dry Sunday evening and overnight, we’ll keep a few clouds. Winds will shift out of the northwest, and temperatures will drop below freezing. We’re forecasting a low of 29° in Lincoln.
The sky turns sunnier on Monday, with temperatures becoming warmer. Highs should be in the middle-50s, which is still below average for this time of year. You may also start to notice the winds picking up again. Gusts upwards of 30mph are possible.
Conditions turn even windier on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we’ll be windy and warmer. As a result, the fire weather concern will remain for many over the next several days, especially in western Nebraska.
We also have a few rain chances scattered throughout the week, with the best storm chances being Friday/Saturday.
