Girls basketball state tournament set
The NSAA released the brackets for next week's girls state basketball tournament in Lincoln.
LINCOLN – We now officially know the 48 teams competing for six state championships in Lincoln next week.
The NSAA released the girls state basketball bracket after district finals wrapped up Friday night.
Area teams highlighting the brackets include No. 3 Lincoln East, No. 4 Lincoln Pius X and No. 8 Lincoln Southwest in Class A.
Class B includes top-seeded Crete and second-seeded Beatrice, who knocked off Crete in the subdistrict final. Norris grabs the No. 8 seed and will play Crete in the first round.
Class C-1 features No. 1 Lincoln Christian as the top seed, with Wahoo and Malcolm taking the No. 5 and No. 8 seeds, respectively.
Class C-2 is devoid of viewing area teams, however, Nebraska volleyball commit Kalynn Meyer leads No. 6 seed Superior into the state tournament.
In Class D-2, No. 2 Humphrey St. Francis and No. 7 Sterling square off in a quarterfinal and No. 6 BDS faces Mullen in the first round.
