Gov. Pillen, Nebraska Legislature recognize Husker wrestling for exceptional season

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska wrestling was recognized by state officials on Thursday for its runner-up performance in the NCAA championship.
Gov. Jim Pillen proclaimed Thursday as Husker Wrestling Day in Nebraska in honor of the team.

Head coach Mark Manning and 2025 NCAA champions Ridge Lovett and Antrell Taylor were also made admirals in the Nebraska Navy.

Sen. Dan Lonowski presented the team with a resolution passed by the Legislature.
Sens. Terrell McKinney and Dan McKeon also presented wrestlers Ridge Lovett and Antrell Taylor with individual resolutions.
This season was the first time Nebraska had multiple individual NCAA champions in the same season since 1984, and it was the Huskers’ best-ever finish in the NCAA tournament.
Manning also noted that Nebraska is only the fourth school in 34 years to have eight All-Americans.
