Governor Ricketts announces process improvements in Nebraska

The state continues to try and build the economy, even in small ways like making it easier for companies to get certain permits.
“That permit used to take 188 days to get done, it was 110 steps long. We cut it down to 22 steps and now we’re getting it done in almost 65 days, so we’re cutting by almost two-thirds. That’s amazing,” Governor Pete Ricketts said.
The Governor discussed process improvements over the course of his term.
For three years in a row, Nebraska has had more economic development projects than North Dakota, South Dakota and Kansas combined. It’s all made possible by those working within their own agencies for improvement.
“Instead of hiring outside consultants to come in and help us, we are training our own team members and really building this into our culture and our operations. It will provide an enduring advantage for state government for years to come,” Chief of Human Resources Officer, Jason Jackson said.
With the help of many agencies in the state, Nebraska is now being recognized as the number one most fiscally stable state in the United States.
Governor Ricketts also declared October, the Center of Occupational Excellence month to honor the improvement Nebraska has seen.
