Governor vetoes Dreamer’s Bill

Gov. Ricketts has vetoed a bill that would end Nebraska’s ban on allowing young people brought to the US illegally as children to get a drivers license.
The governor argued the bill would grant driver’s license to an overly broad group of people in the country illegally, not just so-called Dreamer who enrolled in the program.
Lawmakers gave final final approval last week voting 34 to 9.
Nebraska remains the nation’s only state to exclude the youth from driver’s license eligibility.
