Grand Island felon gets almost four years in prison for gun possession

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Grand Island man was sentenced on Friday for possession of a firearm by a felon.
Thomas McHenry, 49, got just under four years in prison with a three-year term of supervised release.
In October 2022, Grand Island Police were dispatched to a report of disturbance.
According to witnesses, McHenry was waving around a firearm while threatening to kill a family member.
After McHenry was arrested, officers learned that he had numerous prior felony convictions.
A search warrant was obtained for McHenry’s home, where law enforcement found and seized seven firearms and numerous types of ammunition.
