Grand Island Fire Department receives $4,500 donation from local hospital

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Grand Island Fire Department says a donation from the CHI Health St. Francis Foundation will purchase equipment to help save lives.

The $4,500 gift will supply the department with four new wet suit sets, complete with proper accessories.

GIFD says Grand Island is not immune to flooding and fast-moving waters, especially with storms like it’s seen in recent weeks.

Firefighters say they will now be prepared to help the public in those scenarios.
