Grand Island fire forces several houses to evacuate

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KLKN) – Firefighters evacuated several houses in Grand Island late last night after a detached garage caught fire.

It all started around 10 p.m., with firefighters responding to a call on Louise Street.

Residents were evacuated as firefighters attempted to stop the flames from spreading further.

The fire was extinguished around 10:40 p.m.  There are no injuries reported at this time and the Grand Island Fire Department said they are investigating.
