Grand Island Police deploy bean bag and OC pepper ball at suspect in Buddhist Temple

Grand Island Police said a man will be cited after running from officers twice Friday morning.
They said a sergeant tried to pull over a vehicle at 12th and Locust Street around 1:20 a.m. Friday, but it took off.
According to Grand Island Police, the man inside the vehicle was identified as Shane Lawrence and later broke into the Budda Matta Phaaphayaram Lao Buddhist Temple about 5 blocks away.
GIPD said officers surrounded the building and deployed a bean bag and an OC pepper ball.
Lawrence was arrested on three warrants and will be cited for obstruction.
He was taken to St. Francis Medical Center.
