Grand Island woman accused of embezzling from domestic violence crisis center

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Grand Island woman was arrested Monday in connection with an embezzlement from a nonprofit.

Ember Bravo, 32, is charged with theft by unlawful taking and has been booked into the Hall County Jail.

Bravo was the officer manager at Willow Rising, a crisis center for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.

Court documents say in May, staff noticed that two cash deposits totaling $1,881 were never made.

The deposits were put in a safe in Bravo’s office, but she never took them to the bank, according to an arrest affidavit.

A warrant was issued for her arrest on Friday.

Her first court appearance has not been scheduled.
