LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 50-year-old Grand Island woman was sentenced in federal court Thursday for her role in a methamphetamine ring.

Jolene Armentrout got seven years and 10 months for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

In February 2024, Armentrout helped drive 25 pounds of meth from California to Nebraska, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

When she and her accomplice arrived, law enforcement pulled them over and found the meth in a hidden compartment in the trunk, authorities said.

Investigators then served a search warrant at an apartment and discovered even more meth, plus a stolen rifle, police said.

Robert Burkhardt, who was in the vehicle with Armentrout, has been sentenced to 57 months in prison.

Two other co-conspirators, Stephanie Cummings and Lonnie Mason, have pleaded guilty.

Cummings is scheduled to be sentenced on April 9, while Mason will learn his fate on May 7.
