Granite City offers igloo style seating to combat winter months

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – With cold Midwest temperatures and snow still on the ground, eating outside is on pretty much no ones to–do list. That’s why Granite City is offering a new feature that might make that a little more desirable.
“We’ve gotten so many calls the first day, it was just mind boggling. I was putting them up with my general manager and our host came out and said this is going to be big, this is going to be a big deal,” Jason Ries with Granite City said.
They’ve put giant ice fishing tents on their patio. They fit six people at a time, have a space heater inside to keep everyone warm and are sanitized after every use.
So far, they’ve been quite the hit and are providing some special opportunities for people who want to stay safe.
Ries said it’s been heartwarming to give people the chance to get out and celebrate special moments while keeping the pandemic in mind.
With the success they’ve had so far, they are already looking at potentially adding more.
“Even COVID aside, people just like the experience, it’s so different and unique its gained a lot of traction in that too,” Ries said.
You can make reservations by calling Granite City at 402-466-1900. The experience is free.
