Great Plains Trails Network celebrates 30th anniversary

The Great Plains Trails Network turns 30 this year!

The network was founded in 1988 to help develop and maintain a trail system in and around Lancaster County.

Today, there are 133 trail miles within the network.

“The people who started the Great Plains Trails Network just had a passion for what they were doing and I think that they were very wise when they took the steps to create the GPTN they also built relationships within the city government,” said GPTN President Dena Noe.

Dena Noe says the Great Plains Trails Network hopes to be expanding the Lincoln trail system for another 30 years to come.
