Greg Sharpe of Huskers Radio Network announces his cancer diagnosis

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Greg Sharpe announced his cancer diagnosis on Monday on “Sports Nightly.”
Sharpe is the voice of Husker football and baseball, announcing the games on the Huskers Radio Network.
This diagnosis may intervene with his work. Sharpe said he is nearing the point where treatment will be necessary.
“Got a great team of doctors that are putting together the plan,” Sharpe said. “I’ve kind of had symptoms for a couple of months.”
Sharpe said the cancer is in the pancreatic region of his body. That is where his treatment would begin.
He may miss some baseball games and his evening radio shifts, but Sharpe said he is not ready to leave his positions.
He said those around him are supporting him — and he’s getting ready for the upcoming football season.
