Ground Breaking Ceremony for New Treatment Center In Lincoln
Every year, thousands of Nebraskan homes are torn apart by substance abuse and mental illness. And, there are few places someone can go to get treatment. However, earlier Thursday, a ground breaking ceremony was held here in Lincoln to celebrate the construction of a new center that's changing that.
Centerpointe is an organization that has been helping Nebraskans deal with their substance abuse and mental illness problems for over 30 years. Thursday morning, city and state officials were on hand to help write another chapter in their storied tradition. Since 1973, the Centerpointe Center at 16th and J streets has been helping its clients deal with their mental illnesses and substance addictions.
Early Thursday, Mayor Coleen Seng was joined by Governor Mike Johanns at a ceremony celebrating the construction of a brand new, 2.3 million dollar Centerpointe facility at 26th and P streets. If you would like some more information on Centerpointe, click onto www.centerpointe.org
