Guard Jamarques Lawrence returns to Nebraska after stint with Rhode Island

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A familiar face is returning to the Nebraska basketball team next season.

Jamarques Lawrence, who spent the last season in Rhode Island, announced Tuesday that he’s transferring back to Nebraska.

The 6-foot-3 guard started his collegiate career at Nebraska during the 2022-23 season.

He spent another year in Nebraska, starting in 23 games that season, before transferring to Rhode Island for the 2024-25 season.


On the East Coast, Lawrence — a Plainfield, New Jersey, native — averaged 9.9 points, 2.5 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game.
