Halloween Preview: A look at Lincoln’s spookiest houses

Halloween is just around the corner and we visited some of the best decorated houses in Lincoln.

The first stop was at 241 Glenhaven Drive, a father and son spent nearly a month creating a spooky theme.

“We thought well, what if we just start out with some simple tombstones and then we kind of progressed from there, and then we started adding more and more stuff and then it finally came to this,” 13-year-old, Micah Arnold said.

Micah has been decorating for just 3 years, making it bigger and better by looking up ideas on YouTube. It’s something he and his dad look forward too.

“I like the fog and the lights, that’s my main reason for doing it is the lighting and stuff, it’s my favorite,” Arnold said.

Micahs’ is just one of several houses in Lincoln catching people’s eyes as they drive by.

Some of them are more kid friendly such as the one on 27th and South. The front yard is filled with Halloween inflatables.

Other homes chose a more spooky approach with creepy spiders crawling all over.

If you know an exterminator, you might want to bring them over or just knock on this owners front door at 23rd and Grainger.

More scary decorations can bee seen at this home on 31st and Woodsdale. There is so much detail on each and every item.

Some houses look just as impressive in the dark. The lights bring people in much like the one on 1015 Twin Ridge Road.

“It takes probably about 5 solid days to really get the foundation down and then we try to get it out the 1st of October and then that way we have a month to sort of add little bits and pieces to it,” Tom Jeffrey said.

The Jeffrey’s take pride in making their Halloween decorations from scratch. They continue to do if for the hundreds of kids and adults that stop by.

“We get so many people and all the adults will come up here as well and the looks on their faces are like kids, it’s really cool to see actually,” Katie Jeffrey said.
