Harper Murray logs 12 kills, No. 1 Nebraska downs No. 25 North Carolina in 4 sets

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – While No. 1 Nebraska dropped just its second set of the season Friday night at the Devaney Center, the Huskers improved to 9-0 with a 25-14, 20-25, 25-21, 25-10 win over No. 25 North Carolina (4-3).

Harper Murray led Big Red with 12 kills and two aces. Her pair of serves that dropped were part of 13 aces for Nebraska on the night, marking a new season high for the team, and are also the most in a single match since 2005. Murray also moved into seventh all-time in program history for kills.

Andi Jackson logged 10 kills of her own on a .571 hitting percentage.

Additionally, Bergen Reilly moved into fourth all-time in program history when it comes to assists. The three-time Big Ten Setter of the Year assisted on 34 points in Friday’s win.

Nebraska is next in action Sunday, Sept. 20 at the Devaney Center against Florida Gulf Coast. First serve is at 12 p.m.
