Harris leads Trump in Nebraska’s 2nd District, poll finds

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A new poll finds Vice President Kamala Harris ahead in the battle for the electoral vote in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District.
The poll released on Tuesday says Harris is leading former President Donald Trump 50% to 42%.
Two percent of respondents said they would vote for independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and 4% were undecided.
The poll was conducted by Remington Research Group from Wednesday through Saturday. It has a margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.
Nebraska is one of only two states that splits its Electoral College votes by congressional district.
While Republican presidential candidates typically carry the state by a wide margin, the race in the Omaha-area 2nd District is competitive.
Democrats have won there twice: Barack Obama prevailed by 1 percentage point in 2008, and President Joe Biden defeated Trump by 6 points in 2020.
Harris’ running mate — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Nebraska native — campaigned in La Vista on Saturday.
Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, will be in Omaha on Wednesday for a fundraiser.
