Hastings house fire caused by propane heater

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A house in Hastings is a total loss after a fire, authorities said Friday.

The fire broke out about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at a home under construction near East Fourth Street and North Carolina Avenue.

Hastings Fire & Rescue said the fire was sparked accidentally when a portable propane heater ignited some nearby items.

A neighboring property was also damaged by the fire, the department said.

No one was injured.
