Hastings Police arrest Lincoln man wanted in strangulation, domestic assault

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Hastings Police arrested a man wanted in Lancaster County after a standoff on Thursday.

The Hastings Police Department was made aware that the 38-year-old Lincoln man was in town.

He was wanted on warrants out of Lancaster County for strangulation and domestic assaults.

Police tracked the man to a Hastings home on Thursday.

Officers were sent to the home around 1 p.m. and got consent for a search from the homeowner.

Police found the man, but he was uncooperative and made threats to officers and himself.

A tactical team, a K-9 officer and negotiators with the Nebraska State Patrol were deployed.

The man was arrested after nearly three hours of negotiations.
