Hazardous waste center in Lincoln extends hours through August
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A hazardous waste center in Lincoln is extending its hours for the summer, city officials announced Tuesday.
HazToGo, located at 5101 N. 48th St., will now be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Those hours will extend through August.
The center is also open on the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to city officials.
HazToGo accepts several items, like pesticides, lawn chemicals, paint thinners and pool cleaning chemicals. A full list of accepted items can be found on the city’s website.
About 3,500 households use HazToGo annually, the city said.
From 2023 to 2024, over 144,5000 pounds of hazardous waste were diverted from Lincoln’s Bluff Road Landfill.
