Hazy skies and gusty winds Monday, heat wave arrives Tuesday
A warm and breezy Monday ahead. The Smoke will also be present and more dense across eastern parts of the region Monday morning through Monday evening, lingering into Tuesday morning. Temperatures will climb back into the 80s and 90s this week, with chances for storms returning later in the week.
Tonight looks to be a bit chillier with temperatures in the lower 50s.
Monday will bring warmer temperatures, with most areas climbing into the 70s. A breezy northwest wind may help keep things a bit cooler in some locations.
Monday morning, the smoke aloft will be denser as it moves south from the Dakotas. By early Monday afternoon, the smoke will continue to move southeast and linger into Tuesday morning.
The smoke near the surface will continue to move south through tonight. Monday morning and afternoon, parts of eastern Nebraska could see some dense haziness closer to the surface, which will affect people with respiratory symptoms. This smoke lessen up through Monday night and linger into Tuesday morning.
Northwest winds will be gusting to around 20-30 mph throughout your Monday.
Here comes the heat! This week, temperatures warm up quite a bit into the upper 80s and even low to mid 90s. Some rain and storm chances return Thursday and Friday and continue into next week.
