Health department issues air quality advisory for fireworks smoke in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department issued an air quality advisory Tuesday due to high levels of smoke from fireworks.

Fireworks may be used within the city of Lincoln on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 11:50 p.m.

According to the health department, high levels of smoke are expected from Thursday evening to Saturday morning.

During this period of time, Lincoln’s Air Quality Index often reaches levels that unhealthy for everyone, especially for children, older adults and those with respiratory or heart conditions.
