Healthy tips for achieving those weight-loss goals in 2021
Losing weight will take time and can often include adjustments to your lifestyle like sleep and stress.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –As many people look to lose those quarantine pounds Emily Estes, a nutritionist at Sage Nutrition, says the biggest mistake many people make is choosing to follow a fad diet like keto, paleo or weight watchers.
Instead, it’s important to look at your current relationship with food.
“Understanding that and where those roots are coming from and why a relationship is the way it is with food is the foundation,” Estes said.
She said looking into the way you saw food as a child and even how society influences your perspective of food plays a big role. On top of that, making sure you are wanting to lose the weight for you and not any other pressures.
“If we are pressured to change, be that from social media or what our friends are posting and what they are experiencing. Even if a family member says something to us. If we aren’t making changes for ourselves and we don’t want to feel better or do things differently, it wont be sustainable,” Estes said.
Things like social media can have a major impact on how people diet. She said many companies will try to push the quick fix to losing weight and overall, that’s not the best option.
Estes said losing weight will take time and can often include adjustments to your lifestyle like sleep and stress. That’s why it’s important to be patient and not be too hard on yourself.
