HEARTWARMING: Watch Florida boy run mile in honor of Officer Ross Bartlett

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Florida boy ran the extra mile early Sunday morning in honor of fallen officer Ross Bartlett.

Zechariah Cartledge, 15, of Orlando, Fla. ran his 1,731st mile through his nonprofit organization Running 4 Heroes.

Running 4 Heroes was founded by Cartledge in 2019 with a mission to raise awareness and funds for those who lost their life in the line of duty.

Cartledge ran the mile while carrying an American Flag with a red and blue stripe on it to represent Bartlett’s service as a police officer and firefighter.

The flag will be sent to Bartlett’s family along with a note from Cartledge.

Cartledge was being followed by two local patrol cars.

They posted a video of Cartledge running the mile on their Facebook page.
