Heat and humidity backing off starting Tuesday
A cold front pushed through the state overnight Monday and passed through southeast Nebraska early Tuesday. As a result, we expect temperatures and humidity to back off for the day on Tuesday.
We should see some more cloud cover on Tuesday, and there’s a chance to see some isolated showers as the day wears on. I’m thinking these showers will be the exception as opposed to the rule as there seems to be a lot going against widespread meaningful rainfall. But there’s still a chance nevertheless.
Even if you do run across one of these showers, the majority of the day will be dry across southeast Nebraska. Better rain chances will reside to the south in Kansas.
Aside from the small rain chance, Tuesday morning’s cold front passage delivers a cooler air mass. High temperatures will likely be in the 80s for many, although some in southern Nebraska may be able to reach the low-90s. We also expect humidity to gradually diminish as the day progresses.
The humidity will drop to a minimum on Wednesday. We anticipate dry conditions for Wednesday, with highs in the middle and upper-80s.
By Thursday, we’ll be dealing with another front. This time, a warm front passage. The result will be scattered storms on Thursday, along with a warm/humid air mass sneaking back into the area. By Friday we’ll likely be back in the 90s.
