Hickman man arrested after high-speed pursuit ends in Lincoln, patrol says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Hickman man was arrested Wednesday after a multi-county pursuit ended in Lincoln, the Nebraska State Patrol says.
Around 4 p.m., troopers learned that the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office was pursuing a Jeep Patriot that fled a traffic stop.
A trooper saw the vehicle going over 100 mph as it made its way to Lincoln via Highway 2, the patrol said.
The vehicle ran over stop sticks after it turned onto Highway 77 southwest of Lincoln, according to the patrol.
The Jeep came to a stop on Interstate 80 near the West Cornhusker Highway interchange.
The driver — 39-year-old Joshua Pearce — got out and ran across all six lanes of I-80, according to the patrol.
A trooper was able to quickly stop Pearce with the help of a Nebraska National Guard soldier.
Pearce was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including obstructing a peace officer.
