High school football preview: Lincoln North Star poised to ‘take that next step’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln North Star finished last season 5-4, making the playoffs for the first time in nine years.

The Navigators are hoping to build off of that success this year.

“We’ve got to start off really strong,” quarterback Beau Dreeball said. “We’ve got a tough schedule.”

The team boasts a younger roster this year, but the goals remain the same.

“We’re really proud of what we did last year, but this year we are onto the next,” coach James Thompson said. “We got to take that next step.”

Lincoln North Star will face Lincoln Southwest on Friday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m.
