High school football preview: Seward boasts an experienced roster ahead of season
SEWARD, Neb. (KLKN) — Seward football enters this season with key returning players on both sides of the ball.
One of those is starting quarterback Treston Hass, who produced over 2,000 yards of offense last season.
The Bluejays finished the 2023 campaign 6-4 after starting the year 5-1.
“We won some close ones (last year),” head coach Jamie Opfer said. “It just comes down to the details and how hard your kids are working.”
With that experience, Seward is hoping to put the pieces together for another strong year in 2024.
“When you’ve got a group that’s been through the fire, been through the battles, their just at a different level then a guy that’s just playing varsity for the first time,” Opfer said.
Seward starts its season on Aug. 30 at Gretna East.
