LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Thursday morning after the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says he hit a convenience store worker.

Around 9:20 a.m., 29-year-old Austin Bordeaux of North Platte was trying to assault employees at a Kwik Stop in Hershey, authorities said.

When deputies arrived, Bordeaux was “highly intoxicated,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies learned that Bordeaux had struck a store clerk, which left a cut on her hand, the sheriff’s office says.

He was then arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, disturbing the peace and trespassing.

During the response, Hershey Public Schools was put into lockdown.
