Homemade explosives spark grass fire east of Lincoln, deputy says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an explosive grass fire east of Lincoln on Friday.
Around 9 p.m., Southeast Rural Fire and deputies were called out to 98th Street and Pioneers Boulevard on a report of a grass fire.
The fire was sparked by several homemade explosives, Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.
A security camera in the area captured the explosions that sparked the blaze.
Houchin said the fire “didn’t burn horribly” and no structures were damaged.
