Homeowner scares burglars away with gun

The Lincoln Police Department is investigating after a homeowner reported a break-in at their home near 37th and Van Dorn street.
Police said it happened Monday just after 5:00 a.m. The residents said they woke up to the sound of their screen door slamming and then heard two voices talking.
The resident got their handgun out and pointed the laser through the window and told the burglars to leave, Lincoln Police Officer Chassidy Jackson-Goodwin said.
Jackson said the victim then heard a tool drop and two two people running from the home. They didn’t take anything.
Police found a pry mark in the screen door, which is how they think the suspects got inside. They’re still investigating.
