Homestead National Monument buildings closed because of shutdown

The Homestead National Monument of America in Beatrice is feeling the effects of the government shutdown.
Outdoor trails remain open, but buildings are closed because of the partial government shutdown.
Parking lots remain open as well, but with rain and snow in the forecast these areas will not be maintained.
Further more, if it snows, parking lots will not be plowed and trails will not be cleared.
If and when lawmakers are able to come to a deal, normal activities will resume.
