Hot and humid Wednesday with ongoing storm chances
Wednesday, a MARGINAL risk for severe weather is in place for the whole state of Nebraska. Storms will form Wednesday afternoon and try to organize themselves as the evening progresses. The main concerns will be 60 mph winds and quarter size hail with any storms that do become severe.
Strong storms will move through SW Nebraska this evening and move ENE through the overnight. A few scattered to isolated rain showers and storms could linger into eastern and SE Nebraska as well. Wednesday afternoon and evening, storms will look to develop across the state and have some small severe potential with the concerns being winds up to 60 mph and quarter size hail. There is still uncertainty with timing and placement for Wednesdays storm system.
Rain totals through Wednesday night range from 0.50″ – 1.25″+. There will be some showers and storms with heavy downdrafts, which will lead to localized flooding. Some much needed rain and moisture for the state through this week.
Tonight, temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s for all of us. There will be areas of dense fog across the state Wednesday morning, due to the increasing moisture.
High temperatures will be getting into the low to mid 90s. The sun will come out by the early afternoon helping temperatures warm back up.
Dew points will remain in the 60s and even some 70s in SE Nebraska. Hot and muggy Wednesday afternoon.
Temperatures will feel like 92-100 degrees in parts of SE Nebraska Wednesday afternoon.
Tonight, strong storms will look to stay in parts of central Nebraska as they move northeast overnight. The main concerns will be 60 mph winds, quarter to half dollar size hail and lightning. A few scattered showers and thunderstorms will try and linger across eastern Nebraska through the overnight. Scattered rain and storm chances will continue going into your Wednesday afternoon and evening. Temperatures will stay hot in the upper 80s and lower 90s, with feel like temperatures near 95-100 degrees. Sunday, we are keeping an eye out for some storms developing, which could have some severe potential. Keep an eye on the forecast into this weekend!
