Hot next few days with storm chances increasing
Expect hot and sunny conditions over the next few days, with highs in the low to mid 90s through Wednesday. Rain and storm chances are possible late Tuesday night. By Wednesday evening, a cold front will move through the state, potentially bringing severe weather to parts of eastern Nebraska. There’s still some uncertainty in the models regarding the exact timing and placement of this front from late Tuesday into Wednesday. We’ll keep you updated as the week progresses!
Monday afternoon, high temperatures reaching the low to mid 90s. A few triple digits could occur further out west.
There is some moisture in the atmosphere still, meaning temperatures will feel a few degrees hotter in the upper 90s.
There is a MARGINAL ( level 1) risk for severe weather Tuesday evening into early Wednesday. Main concerns will be hail and damaging winds. There could be a SLIGHT risk issued as we get closer to time due to the wind and hail potential.
Models are showing some storms developing along a cold front Tuesday evening. This cold front will look to stall Wednesday morning and afternoon, before moving into SE Nebraska Wednesday night.
Rain chances will stick with us through most of next week, with Wednesday looking to be our best chance of precipitation in southeast Nebraska. High temperatures will dip just below average during the latter half of next week before warming up again going into the weekend of July 19-20.
