Hot & Windy Wednesday
Surface smoke will lessen near the lunchtime hours. Smoke will move east by 3pm as a surface trough brings west winds.
West winds will be windy this afternoon. Peak gusts by Wednesday afternoon could reach 30-40 mph.
RED FLAG WARNINGS are in effect for much of the state through Thursday morning.
A hot, breezy and sunny Wednesday. Thursday evening, a cold front moves through making for a much cooler Friday. The weekend is shaping up nicely, but on the breezy side. Next week brings much needed moisture and rain chances across eastern Nebraska. We could see some MARGINAL severe weather Monday night and Wednesday. Keeping an eye on next Wednesday and Thursday as models hint at a strong cold front bringing potential severe weather.
