UPDATE: House fire in northern Lincoln causes $10,000 in damage

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –  UPDATE: After further investigation, it has been determined that $10,000 in damage was done to the home.  Water was reported on the fire 5 minutes after crews arrived.

The residents are staying with relatives for the time being.

A house fire broke out just before 6:00 pm this evening at 1345 N 14th Street.

According to crews on the scene, the fire was on the 2nd floor of the house and was caused by a candle.

On arrival, both residents made it out of the home safely and no one was transported to the hospital.

$5,000 in damage was done to the residence.
