How to remove your name from a petition in Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lancaster County Election Commissioner Todd Wiltgen wants to remind Nebraskans how to remove their name from a petition.
This comes after numerous callers requested information to remove their name from a petition about the Opportunity Scholarships Act.
It gives extra tax breaks to private school donors. Opponents want the recently passed law voted on in the 2024 general election.
Wiltgen says Nebraska law permits voters to remove their names from petitions by filling out a form.
To complete this you can visit their location on North 45th street or download it from their website.
It must be signed and sworn before the commissioner or notary, before being submitted.
A list of other county election officials may be obtained on the Nebraska Secretary of State’s website.
