Hudl: Haymarket HQ a local economy

Hudl moved to their new location at Canopy and P street in 2017, and since, have expanded two–fold.

“We got about 600 full time Hudl-ees here in Lincoln now. That’s about twice what it was when we first moved to that location,” Hudl CEO, David Graff said.

Graff says the work environment is something he imagined as never poor or dull.

“We’ve got an incredible group of people that solve incredibly hard problems in the work with an amazing group of clients,” Graff said.

And he says being in the Haymarket atmosphere has been welcoming to the innovative design Hudl aspires to be.

“Since we’ve moved into our new headquarters in Lincoln, we’ve done 4 new acquisitions with some 4 amazing companies around the globe. The most recent one is a company called Wyscout, which is based out of Italy, and they’ve got a team of over 100 people and they are the global leader in telenotification for soccer,” Graff said.

Hudl creates useful tools for video analysis– centered on athletes, so that each athlete can elevate their abilities to peak performance.

They say the location has provided some advantages, including more space to create.

“The team is working on a lot of incredible new projects. One of the coolest things we’re doing right now, just cause it’s new for us, is a hardware side. So last fall, we rolled out a beta program of our new intelligent camera called Hudl focus, which we can mount on a gymnasium wall and you can rely on that instead of having to find a student or a parent or a junior varsity coach to record all of your games and matches. You can just rely on the camera to do all of it for you,” Graff said.

The future of the company is in high hopes.

“For us, we see a huge opportunity ahead of us. We’re going to continue to grow our team over the next few years. We continue to see new markets, open up in new ways we can help coaches and athletes and analysts get better at what they do, so we see a very very bright future ahead,” Graff said.

They say in the past year, they created a support development program where members of their support team can learn about different areas of the company. This in turn allows their employees to find areas they enjoy, and give them the opportunity to pursue a career in that area.
