Hundreds of the Husker football faithful gather at fan day
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Hundreds gathered in Memorial Stadium on Tuesday for the 2022 Husker Fan Day.
You could see parents and kids getting all types of memorabilia signed.
A sea of red gathered in the stadium to meet with the football team. Signed balls and T-shirts were just some of the things you could find people waiting in line for.
Connor Raastad said he wants to be just like tight end Chris Hickman when he grows up.
“I was here last year, and he signed a bunch of my stuff,” Connor said. “I am also a tight end, and I want to be like him.”
For others, fan day has a deeper meaning.
For Ryan and Kyle McMullin, this is a family tradition.
“We have been coming to fan day every year,” Kyle said. “Our dad started this tradition with us. So we come every year.”
Fans brought all sorts of items to be signed by their football favorites.
Alyssa Niemeir and her boyfriend came in ready.
“I have my boyfriend’s jersey,” she said. “We are signing on the one and all the white parts ”
Nebraska is just a month away from its kickoff against Northwestern in Ireland, and fans are clearly ready to go.
